Yesterday, Governor Kasich signed HB 473. The law, intended to comply with the 2005 Great Lakes Compact, imposes new permit requirements for water withdraws permit limits and is designed to protect excessive water use from the Lake Erie Basin. Water withdraw limits vary from 100,000 gallons to 2.5 million gallons, depending on the source of the water.
