The Chief of Ohio's Division of Oil and Gas Resources Management issued an order earlier this week granting approval to use first and last “take points” in a cased and cemented horizontal well bore as the point of reference for determining minimum setbacks to the unit lines nearest those points. This should alleviate some of the issues created by the previous methodology.
