PA: Increased Utica Activity

By Greg Russell

The Meadville Tribune has a brief, interesting article on Pennsylvania Utica development:  "Last July, there was just one unconventional natural gas well active in the Utica Shale formation in Crawford County — but this July there are at least five such wells at three different sites in Crawford County, according to permits on file with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.  *** Crawford County has more of a prevalence of the Utica Shale formation which is at a depth of about 7,000 to 8,000 feet. The Marcellus Shale is at a depth of about 5,000 feet."
