OH: Well Site Construction Rule Proposed

By Greg Russell

The Ohio Division of Oil and Gas Resources Management (Division) has published a well site construction rule proposal.  From their website:  "Draft rules for sections 1501:9-2-01, 1501:9-2-02, and 1501:9-12 of the Ohio Administrative Code pertaining to horizontal well site construction are currently available for review and comment. The drafted rules, business impact analysis, and more information regarding the review process are viewable here. Comments regarding draft rules may also be submitted through the end of the review (3/10/2014)."  Among other things, it would require greater PE (professional engineer) involvement and impose certain time lines new to the pad construction process in Ohio.

The Ohio Oil and Gas Association will be submitting comments.
