EIA Updates

By Greg Russell

We thought you might be interested in the following from the Energy Information Administration (EIA):

  • Short-Term Energy Outlook for March 2014:  "Cold weather also contributed to continuing large withdrawals of natural gas from storage and a surge in natural gas spot prices, which hit record levels in several markets during periods of extreme cold. Natural gas working inventories on February 28 totaled 1.20 trillion cubic feet (Tcf), 0.91 Tcf (43%) below the level at the same time a year ago and 0.76 Tcf (39%) below the five-year average (2009-13)."
  • Drilling Productivity Report:  "While shale resources and production are found in many U.S. regions, at this time EIA is focusing on the six most prolific areas, which are located in the Lower 48 states. These six regions accounted for nearly 90% of domestic oil production growth and virtually all domestic natural gas production growth during 2011-12."
  • Winter 2013-14 Propane Updates:  Containing an update on the propane market situation as of March 12, 2014.  See here.
