Reminder to Renew Your Ohio Land Professional Registration

By Casey Valentine

Reminder to all Ohio oil and gas land professionals:  Your registration will expire on Sunday, April 30, 2023.

In Ohio, all oil and gas land professional registrations expire annually on April 30. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Oil and Gas Resources Management (the "Division") mailed out renewal information on March 3 to the business address on file for each land professional. If you have not received your individual renewal instructions you can download a renewal application on the Division’s website here.

A complete renewal requires you to return:

  • A completed renewal application;
  • a $100 fee;
  • and a copy of your certificate of good standing from your national, state or local professional association. Some of the organizations the Division has reviewed and approved previously include the AAPL, IRWA, MLBC, OOGA, and the National Association of Division Order Analysts.

A new wallet card will be issued via email once you are properly renewed. If you have already sent in your paperwork but did not receive your new wallet card, check your junk mail folder.

As April 30 falls on a Sunday, all paperwork needs to be postmarked by May 1 to be considered timely. Any further questions can be directed to the Division at 614-466-4100 or Laura.Monick@com.state.oh.us.
